"Time and Tide wait for no man". It has always been known that universal education is the key to creating an Information Society. Malaysia knows the importance of universal education and its Smart Schools project is a key part of Vision 2020. Yet much of its strategy has had to be put "on hold" owing to the economic constraints of the recession. But while bankers sit on their hands Malaysian children in rural communities, the future wealth of the nation, continue to grow older starved of the universal education they need.

Today I want to show you that this need not be so and that there is a solution within our grasp which does not bankrupt the nation and is completely compatible with the more sophisticated Smart Schools programme.
